MATERIALS LIST

• 1/4 yd gold satin fabric
• 1 magnetic snap
• 1 set 5-inch bamboo handles
with end rings
GAUGE
Size J hook: 3 hdc = 1 inch;
2 hdc rows = 1 inch

PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join rounds with a slip stitch unless otherwise stated. Chain-2 at beginning of row or round counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated.

PURSE SIDE
Make 2.
Row 1: With size J hook and 3 strands of yarn held tog, ch 30, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each rem ch across, turn. (28 hdc)
Row 2: Ch 2 (see Pattern Notes), [hdc in front lp of next st, hdc in back lp of next st] across, turn.
Rows 3–15: Rep row 2. Fasten off.
With RS facing, sew sides and bottom of Purse Sides.

INNER LINING COVER STRAP
Rnd 1: With size J hook and 2 strands of yarn held tog, ch 49, using care not to twist, join (see Pattern Notes) in first ch, ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in each ch around, join in top of beg ch-2.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, join in top of beg ch-2.
Rnd 3: Rep rnd 2. Fasten off.

HANDLE STRAPS
Make 4.
Row 1: With size H hook and 1 strand yarn, ch 3, sc in 2nd
ch from hook, sc in next ch, turn. (2 sc)
Rows 2–8: Ch 1, sc in each of next 2 sc, turn.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in side edge of each row to corner, 3 sc in corner st, 3 sc in next st for corner, sc in side edge of each row to corner, 2 sc in same sc as first sc, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

LINING

Use Purse Sides for pattern, laying bottom of Purse along fold of fabric. Mark along outer edge of Purse, adding ¼ inch along sides and top for seams. Cut out Lining, leaving fold intact. With RS tog, sew sides tog.

ASSEMBLY

Fasten half of magnetic snap to center inside of Lining Cover (snap forks should be facing
you), rep process with other half of snap on opposite side of Lining Cover.
Attach 1 bamboo handle to WS of Lining Cover by using Handle Strap on each end of handle and sewing the Handle Strap to the Lining Cover. Make sure handles are centered on the sides of Lining Cover. Rep to attach rem bamboo handle for opposite edge. Fit top edge of satin Lining over the bottom of the Lining Cover, leaving 1/8-inch space from top of Lining Cover; Lining, Cover, Straps and handles should look like they could slip right into the Purse Sides. Sew satin Lining to the Lining Cover. Slip satin Lining into Purse Sides. With tapestry needle and length of yarn, sew around in back lps of Lining Cover to attach assembled insides to Purse Sides.
